Abstract
Samuel Hahnemann’s understanding of potentization
and the evidence for the effect of potentized substances
make it clear that it is not the facts but the sen -
sory-corpuscular atomic conceptions of medicine that
give rise to the criticism of homeopathy. But modern
physics has abandoned these atomic conceptions in
favour of purely mathematical systems of reference
in the quantum realm and has conceived of them as
active information, which is something non-material,
spiritual. Moreover, on the background of Steiner’s
critique of atomism, macroscopic substance, the whole
of nature and the cosmos can be scientifically conceived
as being essentially of spiritual nature. This enables
a new understanding of the process of potentization.
Here, too, the corpuscular conceptions of substance
must be abandoned in favour of the actual
aggregate properties. Thus, serial dilution in the liquid
leads to an expansion and decondensation of the
dissolved initial substance, which can be successively
transformed from it‘s ponderable, positive state of
form into an imponderable, negative one, for which
the ponderable diluent is the carrier medium. Steiner
spoke of a negative or etherized form state of the substance.
The transition can be rationally conceptualized
through projective geometry with its concept of space
and counterspace.
