Zusammenfassung
Bryophyllum ist ein wichtiges Medikament in der anthroposophischen Medizin mit einem breiten Anwendungsspektrum. In diesem Aufsatz wird versucht, ein Verständnis für die botanischen Eigenschaften des Bryophyllums zu gewinnen und so eine Verbindung zur Therapie mit diesem Medikament herzustellen. Danach werden ältere Studien zum Einsatz von Bryophyllum als Tokolytikum kurz besprochen und auf eigene neue Arbeiten auf diesem Gebiet hingewiesen, die in vitro und vergleichend retrospektiv Bryophyllum als eine interessante Alternative zu konventionellen Tokolytika erscheinen lassen.
Abstract
Bryophyllum is an important medicinal agent in anthroposophic medicine, with a broad spectrum of uses. The attempt is made to gain insight into the botanical properties of Bryophyllum and thus establish a connection with its medical use. Earlier studies on the use of Bryophyllum as a tocolytic are briefly considered, with reference made to new work in this field where both in-vitro and comparative retrospective studies show Bryophyllum to be an interesting alternative to conventional tocolytics.
