Zusammenfassung
Es wird der Einzelfall eines Kindes mit spinaler Muskelatrophie
Typ II dargestellt, welchem über längere
Zeit Plantago-Primula cum Hyoscyamo (Weleda) in
oraler Form gegeben wurde, womit das Voranschreiten
der auftretenden Lähmungen verlangsamt werden
konnte. Erst später konnte mit einem gentherapeutischen
Präparat (das anfangs noch nicht zur Verfügung
stand, da es sich um eine neu entwickelte
Therapieform handelte) intrathekal erfolgreich therapiert
werden. Atemwegsinfekte konnten durch Inhalation
von Pulmo/Vivianit comp. Amp. (WALA) trotz
lähmungsbedingter Einschränkung der Atmung so
weit beherrscht werden, dass es nie zu einer Pneumonie
kam.
Abstract
The individual case of a child with spinal muscular
atrophy type II is presented, who was given Plantago-Primula cum Hyoscyamo (Weleda) in oral form for a
long time, which was able to slow down the progress
of the paralysis. Only later was it possible to successfully
treat the disease intrathecally with a gene therapy
preparation (which was not available at the beginning
because it was a newly developed form of therapy).
Respiratory infections could be treated by inhalation of
Pulmo/Vivianit comp. Amp. (WALA) despite paralysisrelated
restriction of breathing to such an extent that
pneumonia never occurred.
