Zusammenfassung
Die Erneuerung der Mysterienmedizin auf moderner
Erkenntnisgrundlage war ein zentrales Anliegen
Steiners.
Hierzu liefert Steiner besonders in seinem letzten
andere soziale Bereiche fruchtbar.
Abstract
A core concern for Rudolf Steiner was to renew mystery
medicine on the basis of modern insight and knowledge.
The Rod of Asclepius is the symbol for clinical
medicine, the Staff of Mercury for the inner, esoteric
aspect of medicine. Using a modern approach, Steiner
collaborated with physician Ita Wegman in taking up
the Christian mystery stream in medicine. Raphael
with the Staff of Mercury becomes the healer. The Staff
of Mercury was on the one hand the means which
physicians used to train their powers of concentration,
overview and clear medical thinking in vocational meditation.
Steiner provided numerous suggestions and
helpful ideas for this in 1924, the last year of his work
in the public domain. On the other hand he developed
a new approach in medicine. Intense concentration
on the patient, entering into his comprehensive pathophysiology
and considering possible karmic influences,
creates new force fields. With this approach to medicine,
born of mind and spirit, physicians can learn
to handle the Staff of Mercury for themselves and let
spiritual connections conducive to health come to
patients’ awareness in a therapeutic way. Learning
to live with irreconcilable opposites, as in the Staff
of Mercury, can also prove fruitful in other spheres
of social life.
