Abstract
Rudolf Steiner spoke of health as an interaction between the upper and the lower human being. The upper or „daytime“ human being acts via the destructive principles of a uniform nervous system to configure all organs. The lower or „nigt-time“ human being acts via the metabolic organs, causing dissolution and creating substance in all organs. The stable equilibrium between these two human beings, between sensory perception and the use of faculties on the one hand and catabolism and anabolism on the other, may be burdened, displaced or cancelled out. In the case of cancer this is said to be due to endogenous toxins. Eurythmy therapy may influence the interaction from the upper as well as the lower human being to stabilize and restore it. The O-E-M-L-EI-B-D eurythmy sequence (with vowel sounds pronounced as in German) is typical for eurythmy therapy of cancer.
